Bye for now!

I have made the decision that I will be taking a big break from blogging for a while, indefinitely at the moment. The last few months have been fantastic but due to health reasons I have decided to take a break before it all gets too much. Thanks so much for supporting me and helping me share what I love. I will still be around and still be harping on about my favourites over on Twitter and Instagram but for now my reviews are taking a holiday. See you again one day!

Karen Murrell: Natural Lipsticks - Sand Storm, Fuchsia Shock, Carnation Mist

"All natural ingredients, long-lasting, a creamy and smooth application. Nourishing for lips. Biodegradable packaging (PLA)."

I really love these! They are so moisturising and the colours are amazing I can't wait to try them all. A purchase that is definitely well worth it!

The sweet and sour...

Sand Storm
I absolutely love the formula and am a big fan of these lipsticks but I really don't think this shade suits me as I'm more of a pink lippy girl but I'm going to make it my mission to branch out and try to rock this shade this summer. Again, this is a fab product if you are looking for a very natural/neutral nude tone.

Fuchsia Shock
I love this colour although I'm often not brave enough to wear it at full strength I usually go for a light swipe but it is a really gorgeous either way. Once again I was not disappointed with this lipstick, it goes on like a dream, is creamy and moisturising and surprisingly fairly long wearing. Thank goodness for Karen Murrell lippies is all I say!

Carnation MistThis is my go-to daily lipstick. I absolutely love the colour as it's so soft and you can build it to a stronger colour if needed. It is creamy and glides on well although I usually apply lip balm before. I really like how it is packed full of safe and natural ingredients in a biodegradable canister. Kudos to Karen Murrell for making some gorgeous lipsticks that are good for the body, environment and are in some lovely shades.

Schwarzkopf: Instant Volume Powder

"Schwarzkopf Extra Care Instant Volume Powder lifts hair to give it instant volume that will last for up to 24 hours. Once applied to the roots of the hair, the powder works to boost hair height for added volume."

If you want lift and volume this is for you! My hair is naturally quite voluminous but this is just wonderful, it gives my hair a huge lift and is so easy to apply. Make sure you only start with a small amount at first as if your hair is like mine it will be big in no time. This doesn't weigh my hair down or leave a white powder finish which is great. I highly recommend this for those of you who want volume, this will be sure give you body and lots of it.

The sweet and sour...

  • Light, easy to apply. Reminds me of a powdered hairspray.
  • A little goes a long way. Be careful not to use too much, it may become knotty and straw-like.
  • Does what it claims. Big. big. big hair. Well for me anyway.

10g, NZ $7.29

Ecostore: Lemongrass Soap

"With an invigorating fresh lemongrass scent, this soap gently cleanses without removing the natural protective oils from your skin."

I absolutely love this soap, the scent is so so lovely! It has a very light lather and doesn't feel like it's stripping my skin of moisture as it's very gentle. There's not much I can say about this other than I really love it and it smells just wonderful! Love ya Ecostore!

The sweet and sour...

  • Gentle. Creamy.
  • Gorgeous, gorgeous scent.
  • Plant and mineral based. Vegetable oils.
  • Cruelty free. Recyclable packaging. All the good stuff!!

Dr. Hauschka: Lip Balm

"Intensive soothing care for dry, chapped lips, this rich balm promotes skin renewal without establishing a dependency. Skin renewal is gently promoted whilst also moisturing and softening your lips at the same time. Lip Balm provides a translucent shine and helps to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines around the mouth."

This is a lovely lip balm. It's packed full of natural oils which gives it a greasy texture leaving my lips so soft and moisturised, for me that's a good thing and I don't mind the oils. It has the classic Dr. Hauschka scent which is pleasant and natural. I like to use it at night or as a special treat. However, I don't really like the size of the pot opening as I have trouble getting the product out with my fingers as I don't have teeny tiny hands but I do love the weight of the pot, it's not just some plastic thing. But anyway, aside from that which is no reflection on the product itself I really like it and it's one of my favourite lip balms I own. Thumbs up for this one!

The sweet and sour...

  • Full of natural oils and ingredients aimed to encourage renewal, to strengthen lip tissue and prevent cold sores.
  • Creamy, greasy, moisturising.
  • Natural botanical ingredients prevent body from developing a dependency upon this product.

4.2g, NZ $29

Batiste: Dry Shampoo - Blush

"The essence of femininity, Blush is the floral, flirty way to turn heads. A few quick sprays instantly leaves hair feeling clean, fresh and full of body and texture.

Great for quick touch ups to make you're hair feel a little fresher between washes. I absolutely loathe having product in my hair so I don't love using this as it's more of a means to an end when I don't have access to water but I think it's a wonderful idea. It does leave a little powdery colour in my hair as you would expect having dark hair so be careful when applying. The scent I have is called 'Blush' and it's absolutely lovely, I'm a big fan of floral scents so this one is right up my alley. Overall, it's a good product and perfect for travel, works well and does what it claims.

The sweet and sour...

  • Smells great. Available in other scents too.
  • Easy enough to apply.
  • Brilliant idea. Dry shampoo is a lifesaver for some.
  • Comes in different sizes. Perfect handbag size ones too!

200ml, NZ $14.95. You can also get a smaller 50ml travel/handbag size like mine for about $8.

"Johnson's® Daily Essentials Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes are suitable for even the most delicate skin. The wipes are perfume-free, alcohol-free and oil-free and are dermatologically tested to ensure mildness yet remain effective enough at cleansing and removing even water-proof mascara."

These are one of my favourite facial cleansing wipes as they are super soft and don't strip my skin of moisture. They have a soft neutral scent and take off my makeup very easily. I think these are really good although I do prefer them more for the cooler months as they moisturise my face but overall they're well worth a purchase.

  • Soft towelette, moisturising.
  • Fragrance free. Gentle.
  • A good size. Flexible.
